Mission Statement:

AgingParents.com is a consulting, educational and dispute resolution service. We focus on the families of aging parents and other relatives, to assist them with the effort to keep their loved ones safe, to address the concerns of caregivers, and to enhance the quality of life for elders. We do this through direct consulting with family members and elders, through mediation of family and institutional conflicts, through assessment of elders and direction to appropriate resources, and through presentation of written and recorded information resources.

Who:

Carolyn L. Rosenblatt, R.N., an attorney at law and trained mediator and Dr. Mikol Davis, a clinical psychologist. Together this husband/wife team has 70 years of combined professional experience. Ms. Rosenblatt received both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Davis, who also received his doctorate from the University of San Francisco, has worked extensively in the areas of depression, anxiety and family conflicts.

What:

A one-stop resource for caregivers and others who need help with their aging parents. Fee-based consultations in person, by telephone or on line from a professional team with legal, nursing and psychology credentials and expertise in elder care issues.

When:

Many resources are available 24/7 at www.AgingParents.com. There are free articles addressing a wide range of topics, including elder abuse, recognizing depression, using mediation and staying out of court as well as a discussion about geriatric care managers. Visitors can register to get a free newsletter and listen to interviews with Dr. Davis on what to do when you get “That Crisis Phone Call” or find out from Ms. Rosenblatt how to take control of an elder’s health care and what a Power of Attorney is. A library of podcasts in a three CD set and a Resource Action Guide are available for a small fee.

Where:

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, AgingParents was started in 2005 to fill the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to assist those concerned with the needs of their aging parent and elders.

Why:

Elder care issues frequently come “bundled” or involve overlapping concerns. Help with Elders saves time because of the professional skill sets offered in one location. In most cases, issues are resolved in one visit.

How:

To reach, call toll free:866-962-4484 or email Carolyn Rosenblatt at nurselawyer@comcast.net or Dr. Davis at drmikol@comcast.net. The mailing address is 711 Mission Avenue, San Rafael, CA 94901.

Testimonials by our readers
"Thank you for the article on the "grey area". It validated what I am currently going through with my Mother. It is so painful for me to go back and forth with her behavior. I just don't know what to do about the estranged sister who has exploited well over $50K of my mother's savings and my Mothers admitted " lack of "will power" to say no to her." Robert ________________________________ "I do want to thank you for the Webinar you offered. It helped me a great deal as I was facing the need to lead our family in finding a safe living situation for our mother. That information and the other information you offered as downloads gave me much needed guidance when I was feeling tremendous anxiety and uncertainty." Betty
